But I'm An Extrovert!

I'm social!
I love people!
I want to interact!
Why would I choose CLEP testing

So you want the college experience--I completely definitely understand. There's a gorgeous campus in a town not far from here (John Brown University), and every time I go there I feel a longing to be actually walking down those sidewalks as a student, being a regular at the cafe, stressing over homework on those cushy couches.... Sometimes I have regretful pangs about pursuing an online degree, no matter how cheap and quick and educational it is.

But distance learning does not mean that you have to forfeit the college experience! In fact,
tests like CLEP can make it possible for you to go to a brick and mortar college. Imagine saving so much money by testing out of your core classes that you are enabled to complete the rest of your "traditional" education without debt! Now that's a system even a social extrovert can get behind!

Why not test out of the most boring classes, or ones you're already knowledgeable in, so that you can dive deeper into the really interesting stuff?

Here are the lower-level core classes from JBU, a private Christian college. The classes in bold type can be taken by CLEP or AP:
  • BBL 1013 Old Testament Survey
  • BBL 1023 New Testament Survey
  • COR 1002 Gateway Seminar in Christian Scholarship
  • COR 1012 Wellness
  • EGL 1013 English I: Composition
  • EGL 1023 English II: Literary Analysis and Research
  • HST 1013 Western Civilization
  • IHST 1023 Western Civilization
  • IIPOL 2113 American Government
That's 15 hours of core classes that you could feasibly complete in 10 weeks of dedicated study! Do you see where this is headed?

Here is the core curriculum from Nevada State College. CLEP Credits are accepted in all of the bold subject areas:
  • English Composition ... 3-6 credits
  • Study and Technology Skills...2 credits
  • Mathematics... 3-5 credits
  • Natural Sciences... 7-8 credits
  • Social Sciences ... 3 credits
  • Fine Arts ... 3 credits
  • Humanities... 6 credits
  • Constitution...3-6 credits
  • Community-Based Learning Capstone ... 3 credits
So you can see that CLEPing doesn't mean forfeiting the college experience. You can just test out of some core classes and you're already way ahead of your new friends!

Till next time,
